Objective

The SIDERA ^ B research project aims at designing, developing and validating a platform for continuity of care at home supported by innovative technologies for patients with chronic diseases of particular relevance for the NHS, such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Parkinson’s disease and Chronic Heart Failure (CHF).

Achieved Results

Technological platform capable of providing multi-domain and multi-device rehabilitation pathways, and of connecting, motivating and supporting patient and caregiver at an optimal level of efficiency and engagement in the care.

SIDERA ^ B uses exergames for rehabilitation activities at home to make care more and more personalized and to assist the patient in an integrated and innovative way, guaranteeing the clinic-home double-loop. Each exergame is planned on the platform by the clinician, and then the patient views the content on his or her tablet.

Expected benefits

  • Improvement of the quality of life of the patient suffering from chronic condition
  • Increased therapeutic compliance
  • Organizational efficiency of the health structures in which the system is adopted
  • Extension of the number of patients who can carry out home rehabilitation activities
